Big Lots Stores Closing 2024. Big lots plans to close as many as 315 stores nationwide, the embattled discount retailer disclosed in a regulatory filing. Dozens of stores were added to the growing list of 344 big lots store closures.

Now, the company is working to commence with going out of business sales at all locations while continuing to search for a buyer. Big lots is continuing to downsize its physical footprint as part of an ongoing chapter 11 bankruptcy process, with plans to close an additional 56 stores across 27 states.
